We're Better Together!

The goal of Floyd Elementary Library media program is to ensure that all students and staff are effective users of information and ideas. This goal is accomplished by:

offering access to materials in a variety of formats;

creating learning experiences that encourages users to become discriminating consumers of information;

providing a facility that functions as the information center of the school with up-to-date resources and activities that contribute to life-long learning.

--Information power: guidelines for school library media programs (1988) p.1

Floyd Elementary Library has an open door policy for checkout and the guidelines for checkouts are:

Kindergarten - 1 book

First and Second Grades - 2 books

Grades K-2 may keep their books one week and grades 3-5 can keep their books for two weeks and then its overdue. There are no fines for overdue books, however the student cannot check out any new materials until overdue items are returned or as a last resort...paid for.
